Managing Compliance Costs for your EPA- Licensed Business - 26 February 2015
With respect to licence changes, attendees heard about Ibec’s efforts to drive clearer and faster processes for EPA licence reviews, ranging from formalising intra-Agency communications to crafting new legislation to eliminate procedural redundancies. They also learned about EPA's recent guidance on when a change request can be accommodated as a Technical Amendment to the licence, as well as EPA's new web-based licence change request submission system.
On the subject of liability costing and choosing financial provisions, attendees learned from experienced industry representatives how to minimise compliance costs under this new and more stringent regime. They also heard about Ibec’s ongoing campaign to lower costs and increase options for Licensees, the pros and cons of the current range of EPA-approved Financial Provision instruments, and how Environmental Liability Insurance products can offer a more cost effective and efficient way of covering unknown environmental liabilities.
