'Evaluation of the Practical Implementation of the EU Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Directives in EU Member States'- JUNE 2015, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion

The present executive summary comprises the main conclusions and recommendations derived from the project 'Evaluation of the Practical Implementation of the EU Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Directives in EU Member States' commissioned by the European Commission and conducted by a consortium consisting of COWI A/S, IOM and Milieu..The objective of the evaluation is to evaluate the practical implementation of occupational safety and health directives in EU Member States with a view to assessing their relevance, effectiveness and coherence, and identifying possible improvements to the regulatory framework. The evaluation covers a total of 24 OSH Directives (cf. Table 1) and their implementation and effects within 27 Member States1 in the period 2007-2012.
